Enemies outside or enemies within – who is more dangerous?

Enemies outside or enemies within

Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi is in the news for the wrong reasons, yet again.

The university named after the man who, what history teaches us, was a freedom fighter who dreamed of a prosperous India and happened to be the first PM of independent India, today epitomizes the institution where curating and execution of “anti-national activities” are taking place.

The corridors of the university named after the man who gave the slogan of “Poorna Swaraj”, today echoes “Bharat ki Barbadi tak, Jung Jaari hai”.

Rewrite History Books, Rebuild Destroyed Temples, Learn Sanskrit, Stop Conversion : Dr. Swamy.

Rewrite History books

Dr Subramanian Swamy said that the history books written by Indians should be promoted instead of the ones written by the Britishers.

BJP ideologue, an erstwhile Harvard Professor and National Think Tank, Dr Swamy  advocated replacing history books written by Britishers in pre-Independence era, alleging they had “distorted” facts about India. A full packed Swatantrata Bhawan of BHU witnessed an eloquent and versatile Dr Swamy with some more expectations.

Swamy said that even in the course books of schools and colleges the facts about Hindu kings should be mentioned more than the Mughal emperors like Akbar, Aurangzeb and others.

He said there was a need for rebuilding temples in places where they were allegedly demolished and mosques built.

Against fraud? Or Against freedom, Mr Roy?

Against fraud

The government has finally acted against Mr and Mrs Prannoy Roy and NDTV Ltd for fraud and deceit, which has been the subject matter of litigation in courts. Before the high financial rise of NDTV began, one must remember that when the UPA assumed office in 2004, NDTV had a huge cash loss of Rs 248 crore. It had no funds even to pay salaries, and its shares were trading at less than par. Its fortunes soared after the UPA came to power, and it received funds through a host of shell companies floated by it after 2004.

Tax evasion, suspected money-laundering

Between 2006 and 2010, NDTV India floated some 20 wholly-owned subsidiaries in different parts of the world - seven in Mauritius, eight in India, two in the Netherlands, one in London, one in UAE, and one in Sweden. All of them were letter-box companies, resting only on the valuation of NDTV Ltd. These subsidiary companies raised $417 million. Of this, $310 million was raised through a wholly-owned subsidiary, NDTV Network PLC UK, and $117 million through the sale of the channel NDTV Imagine to GE Corporation controlled by Universal Studios - all through private negotiation and private placement. Out of the $417 million, $267 million was invested by GE Corporation directly or indirectly. Just a reference to the emails obtained by the Income Tax authorities shows how the Roys and the other directors of NDTV were struggling to camouflage the huge monies received, not knowing how to camouflage the funds before the tax authorities. All this happened in 2008.

The Left and academic freedom

The Left and academic freedom

The bogey of free speech in danger is in fact a ruse to camouflage the real agenda to break India. The Communists had actively conspired with the departing British and Muslim League to vivisect the country and create a theocratic Pakistan. The Left has no faith in India or her democratic Constitution which mirrors the pluralistic Hindu ethos of this ancient land. – Balbir Punj

In the context of what is happening in many universities across the country, let the true upholders of academic freedom come forward to separate the wheat from the chaff.

The first thing is that violence has no place in academia. Issues have to be debated, sometimes with lot of passion. Ideological positions are quite natural, but the right to have a strong ideological stand cannot be exclusive.

The word “democratic” is being used in our country (and elsewhere too) with abundance. Our self-styled Leftist professors are seen to be admirers of such “people’s democratic” regimes like North Korea. This is simply misteaching because instead of teaching using established facts, they seek to substitute ideology for facts.

Tons of events are held in our colleges to unleash this pollution.

The problem in our academia is when someone questions this misteaching, the Left lets lose goonda raj on the honest enquirer and silences him. When increasingly large numbers of students (and teachers) begin to question substitution of facts with ideological views, left-wing goondaism claims it is being subjected to violence.

Corruption & Terrorism Are The Main Challenges Before Indian Democracy.

Corruption Terrorism Are

Speakers in a seminar organised by Hidustan Samachar here on 27th August 2011, concluded that the Corruption & terrorism are two main challenges before the Indian Democracy. Dr. Subramanian Swamy, Govindacharya and former Odisha IGP & BJP executive Ashok Sahu were the main speakers at the seminar titled “Challenges Before Indian Democracy”.

Elaborating about the present situation in the country, Dr. Subramanian Swamy, Chief Speaker of the seminar, said that the Corruption at the highest level of the executive & political system is the highest threat to Indian Democracy. When the protector of the system gets corrupt, who can save the system ? The corruption then percolates down to the last level of the administration. Therefore it is more dangerous for the country. The corruption also threatens the national security both from within & outside.

He said that terrorism of al hues – Maoist, Jihadi or political – is another strong threat Indian Democracy is facing today. Due to the corruption, the political class gets blackmailed & loses the will to fight the terrorism to eradicate it from its root.

He also explained how the hawala rackets work to send the black money out of country, how Pakistani spy agency ISI controls hawala network, how the participatory notes are bought from USA using this black money, how these participatory notes are used for deals in Indian share market, how the profit generated is converted to US Dollars

Army Gives Clean Chit To Officer Who Tied An Alleged Stone-Pelter To Jeep, Says His Move Saved Lives

Army Gives Clean Chit To Officer Who Tied

A court of inquiry (CoI) convened by the Army has given a clean chit to Major Nitin Gogoi, the officer who tied an alleged stone-pelter to an army jeep in order to discourage a group of mobsters from harming a convoy of election officers,India Today has reported. The CoI has not recommended any action against Gogoi.

Earlier, the Centre had decided to back the officer, noting that he took the decision as the last resort to protect polling officers and jawans accompanying the convoy.

Gogoi, who was leading the convoy, had volunteered to serve in Kashmir. He took the call in order to prevent direct confrontation between the mob and the army, a scenario that would have ended in bloodshed.

According toNDTV’s report, a Quick Reaction Team of the army was called in prevent escalation of hostilities, but the numerical superiority of the stone-pelting mob made it almost impossible for the convoy to move. “They would have been lynched by 400 people,” the report quoted a source as saying.

According to sources quoted byIndia Today, the army believes that Gogoi’s timely decision saved many lives and prevented confrontation.

Islamists And Maoists – Two Sides Of The Same Coin

Islamists And Maoists

The modus operandi of the Maoists in Bastar and Islamists in Kashmir is exactly the same.

They are opposed to development and fear education.

On 22 February this year, a group of students owing allegiance to leftist student unions raisedazadi slogans at Ramjas College, in New Delhi. The video is there on the internet for all to see. The slogans raised wereKashmir maange azadi,Bastar maange azadi among others.

We have heard the sloganKashmir maange azadi before at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU). But it was the first time that students chantedBastar maange azadi. And why wouldn't they? It is exactly the same ideology that feeds and nurtures both the separatist groups.

The sinister thread that connects the Islamists in Kashmir and the Maoists in Bastar doesn't stop at mere sloganeering. Both are separatist groups using acts of terror and violence to destabilise the Indian state. The ultimate aim of both Maoists and Islamists is the Balkanisation of India.

The modus operandi of the Maoists in Bastar and Islamists in Kashmir too is exactly the same.
